Why the confusion?
Some media outlets have conflated market value or transfer fee with salary ranking, especially after Kudus’s high-profile move and rapid rise in valuation.
The CIES Football Observatory placed Kudus as the second or third most valuable African footballer as of early 2025—estimating him between €89.6 million and €66.2 million depending on the source . But player market value does not directly translate to salary.
