Highlife artist Fameye revealed in a Hitz FM interview on 22 July that he spent more than US $15,000 preparing for his performance at the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards. The investment included custom outfits, elaborate stage props, deluxe backup dancers, and two performance directors.
The performance, televised and widely shared on social media, was praised for its cinematic quality. Critics called it one of the most creatively ambitious sets of the awards night. Fans applauded the polish and professionalism, calling it a new benchmark for live performance in Ghana.

The move also underscores an evolving music industry: artists are now expected to deliver high-production visuals and strong stagecraft. For Fameye, the risk appears to have paid off—his social presence surged, and streaming numbers climbed in the aftermath.
Industry insiders noted that such investments reflect a growing commercialization of live music in Ghana, where branding and visuals increasingly matter. Young artists watching his trajectory see a roadmap: live shows aren’t just concerts—they’re storytelling experiences.
