Shatta Wale states: he opened a bank account at 14 and put in ₵750,000 way before fame came calling.

The dancehall artist said he had already saved ₵750,000 when he was just 14 years old. The now resurfaced interview that is making the social media rounds has him saying that he lied about his age, stating he was 18, to open an account in Prudential Bank.

Shatta explained how growing up around affluence, seeing foreign notes like dollars and pounds felt usual and he fast built that sum of savings.

He stated it is a strange kind of story unlike those of the usual “rags to riches” instances. Interestingly, the money slipped his memory until years later when he attempted to tap into it and, to his surprise, no records were traceable on the bank’s system.
